The Catch One
4067 W Pico Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90019
This Mid-City club specializes in industrial and experimental dance/house music, and boasts the longest-running industrial music venue in Southern California. LA Weekly hailed this club as “arguably the biggest and best industrial night in LA.” Be forewarned, as Das Bunker is a very niche club for those who love industrial music. So if you’re not a big fan of industrial, your time may be better spent at another club.
1154 Glendale Ave
Los Angeles, CA 90026
This Echo Park venue offers a casual hipster ambience without the inconvenience of overly-priced drinks. Bootie LA has a $5 cover before 10PM and $10 afterwards. You can also download mash-ups from their website free of charge, or get a free mash-up CD if you’re one of the first 100 people in the venue that night. The go-go dancers are also inventive and unique in their costumes, ranging from dancers dressed as pink astronauts and mummies
336 S Hill St
Los Angeles, CA 90013
This cozy Downtown L.A. venue has their peak nights on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. With a hipster, “dive-y” ambience, La Cita’s “Dance Right Thursdays” offers musical selections of house, hip-hop, electronic and disco for those who aren’t shy about shaking it on the dance floor. La Cita’s happy hour goes until 9PM, later into the night than most nightclubs. The small dance floor may end up getting crowded later in the night.
