Based in Sin City, DJ Scotty Boy (real name Scott Schroer) has been ranked one of the top 10 DJ’s in the U.S. by the DJ Times Magazine for the past 3 years in a row. After over 20 years in the business, the guy is a force to be reckoned with as both a DJ, Producer, and soon-to-be bar owner. Currently a resident DJ at the world renown Marquee Las Vegas, read to the end of the interview to see a few upcoming special events where you can see him next.

THE INTERVIEW
1.) Where are you from originally? 
2.) How did you first get into DJing?
For my 3rd grade Halloween Dance, I was Jam Master Jay from Run DMC and played songs I recorded off the radio on my home stereo.
3.) Where did the name “DJ Scotty Boy” first come from?
I started out as Kid Gemini back in the late 80′s, but as I got older and started playing more adult clubs and electronic music and alternative I needed a name that didn’t sound so 80′s hip hop, lol. A club owner I had DJ’d for refused to put it on the flyers so he just one day called me Scotty Boy and I stuck with it.
4.) How would you describe your sound?
It changes a lot, but its always been fun, funky and edgy. I have played all formats and genres, but I love house music so I try and fuse other sounds into my sets and create my own sound.
5.) Who are your influences?
Too many to name, lol. So many DJs of all style have influenced me thru the years. As for producers that changes every week, Fedde Le grand, Revolvr and Deadmua5 are good friends of mine and definitely influence my sound.
6.) What was your first DJ gig?
Probably a house party back when I was 14 years old
7.) What’s the best part about DJing? The worst part?
I get paid to do what I love…Travel, socialize, play music and party with my friends! Worst part? There is none!
8.) If you weren’t DJing, what would you be doing? Any other business ventures?
I am opening a Bar in Downtown Vegas in November. I have always been obsessed with the nightclub and bar business and love every aspect of it. If I had more skill, I would love to be a NBA player, lol.
9.) Halloween is fast approaching, what’s your costume?
I am Jaxx from Sons Of Anarchy 
10.) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
