AV Nightclub Hollywood
HOLLYWOOD NIGHTCLUBS | LOS ANGELES NIGHTLIFE
Business partners Matt Bendik (formerly a partner at Voyeur) and Tosh Berman are taking over the old Spotlight space on the Cahuenga corridor in Hollywood and opening a new nightclub. It’s going to be called AV Nightclub which stands for the audio-visual experience clubgoers get.
Bendik and Berman have formed AV Hospitality and interestingly are also opening up an adjacent Italian restaurant which will open this summer. Now, Hollywood regulars probably remember the short lifespan of Goa just up the block from this space. That club was quite popular, but didn’t last long due to licensing issues. With their experience, I’m sure this won’t be a problem for these guys.
The space Spotlight was a gay bar for the past fifty years. Sources say the building’s owner was going to triple the rent, which forced Spotlight to shut down.
AV nightclub is set to open either Monday, April 30th or Monday, May 7th. And with BNG and SEG opening up Lure Hollywood (at the old Cabana Club space) in May, this town is sure to see some fierce competition. But from what we hear, the space is amazing and our guess is that this will be the newest Monday hotspot off the bat.
Pictures coming soon…stay tuned.
